Alytus Racewalking Festival 2017: 20km Women

It is Thursday and as usual I am posting late as you already know from my last posts. I am not able to make it on time ever. The other day I  asked an IT expert if he would like to fix my laptop as a response he said it is not worth it to fix something that is broken and 5 years old. He almost made me cry, anyway I’m posting late but posting nevertheless.  This time I shot with different settings and didn’t f*ck it up, every race is like a lesson.

…more

I arrived a day before the race, I saw where the racewalkers workout. I ate, chill and checked the circuit which was right in front of my hotel

I had the chance to chat to many Racewalkers before the race for  example to Belarusian Yauheni Zalesski, Stanislau Kuzmich and Anastasiya Rodzkina.
It is not easy to communicate as my Russian is a bit rusty but everything can be fixed with a little smile, thumbs up and saying good luck, studied Russian for a year and all I san say is Vodka.

I saw Austeja Kavallauskite racing the first time 20km after doing the 5km just 2 hours before the 20km race. I do not know how she did it but hats off.
There were 2 women I actually missed  Monika and Živilé Vaiciukevičiūté , I’ve seen them at every race, coming to Lithuania I assumed I’d see all Lithuanians but they were in a training camp.  It was nice to see familiar faces among them the Polish racewalkers Kamil Komarowski, Daniel  Chojecki und Zuzanna Drygalska  and Grzegorz  Grinholc who actually lives in the town where I used to live when I was a child.

Anyway the race was good and what I liked about this race that men and women were racing together. It is like they pushed each other I do not know if it is generally a good thing or not but for that reason the race was very short.

Enough said, enjoy the pics and as usual ladies first, but first a list of the racers so you can match the face with the number and name:

And here she walks through the finish line, the winner Brigita Virbalytė-Dimšien, we featured her in our Who is coming ?post, Congratulations  I am sure it feels fantastic to be Lithuanias Champion. That also means she is probably walking in London. Good luck Brigita!
